Recovery: post-workout nutrition, simplified

Food has many delicious benefits. One of those benefits is helping your body recover from various forms of physical activity.️ To help decrease muscle soreness and refuel your muscles after a vigorous workout it is beneficial to… EAT FOOD.

Yes, we can get into the nitty-gritty of protein, carbohydrate, and fat ratios for optimal recovery but there’s no need to over-complicate it unless you are an elite, competitive athlete. Simply put, eat food that has all three!

Find post workout foods that:
Contain a variety of nutrients
Taste delicious
Make you feel good

Stop overthinking it

If you tried various forms of recovery and listening to your body and still feel…

Also, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

  • Drink plenty of water before, during, and after your workouts.
  • If you don’t have a reusable water bottle that you use through the day, go treat yourself
  • After a super sweaty workout, your body has lost a lot of water and electrolytes so be sure to include electrolytes (e.g. eat a banana) post workout
