how energy levels are affected by plant based diets

This is one of the most common changes people experience when they go plant-based! This is what some of my coaching clients said after they’d started their plant-based journey:

  • “I don’t drink a third Monster during the day. You know that’s huge for me!”
  • “I’m not having that afternoon slump like I used to. What is happening to me lol?!”
  • “I find that I want to move around in the afternoon like take a walk or something, not take a nap”

Plant-based meals filled with fresh fruits and vegetables, legumes, nuts and seeds, and whole grains can be very energizing to follow because they contain a powerhouse of nutrients and lots of fiber and water! Plants are also great for digestion (a process that utilizes a LOT of energy), can ensure a good night’s rest, and can help stabilize your blood sugar.

Reducing animal products from your diet, which require a lot of effort to digest, can lighten the workload on your entire system, which translates to more energy for YOU!

Have you noticed having more energy since you started eating more plants?

Eating more plants can come with its challenges. There’s a lot of nutrition noise out there, everyone has an opinion, and it can be confusing to figure out what works best for YOU. Working through these challenges and learning how to easily incorporate more plant-based foods into your diet and lifestyle can be helpful. Working with a plant-based dietitian to guide you through your unique journey and surrounding yourself with other like-minded people who are on a similar journey can be monumental. When you join my nutrition coaching program, you’ll get a highly customized, one-on-one experience to help you confidently and sustainably eat foods that taste good and make you feel good.
